4th of July 2019

We hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th of July.  We celebrated by attending our neighborhood parade.....well, David, Margo and I did.  Madeline spent the night with a friend and Lydia was sleeping in during the 10am parade.

Having fun with SnapChat!

Annie walked in the parade with us.  Jack's a little too vocal to participate so he celebrated at home!

The only Grimes cousins at the parade this year!

We made a firecracker cake!

Margo posing with the dogs.
We had a really relaxing day at home and in the pool.  David grilled burgers and hotdogs and I worked that night and celebrated with the babies!

June 2019

It's so hard to believe that the summer is flying by.  I'm recapping June with these pics.

We started off the month by getting a new (used) car for David.  He had a hybrid for a year and although it was great on gas, it wasn't ideal for accelerating and dealing with merging Raleigh traffic.  The new car is a 2017 Honda Civic and we love it!

Margo had her dance recital on June 15th.  She has worked very hard this year and and we are very proud of her and all of her accomplishments in dance.  She really loves it and is looking forward to traveling with her studio to Nationals in July in Myrtle Beach.

She loved the mural in downtown Goldsboro outside the Paramount Theater where the recital was held.

 Mama's not-so-tiny dancer.  She's growing up!

With Mama and Daddy!  Proud of our girl.

I didn't get a lot of pictures at the recital because of quick costume changes, but here are some of her dance pictures that were recently taken at the studio by Brandi Autry.

Tap Routine: Trashin' the Class

Jazz Routine: Welcome to the Jungle

Lyrical Routine:  How Far I'll Go

Tap Duet: Hit Me Up

The next morning we headed to Camp Don Lee.  Here she is all packed and ready to go for two weeks.

With her counselor, Virginia.

With Grier, her camp BFF.  This is their 4th year attending camp together.

With Crecia and Grier.

Found this pic on the camp website within the first few days.  I could tell she was having a blast.  She loved the high dive.

While Margo was at camp, we celebrated David's 45th birthday on June 19th.

We took Madeline on a college tour of UNC-Chapel Hill on June 20th.

It was neat being back at our alma mater....a little hard to believe we have a rising senior who is touring colleges!

We had the best BLT at Merritt's Grill in Chapel Hill!

With Madeline in front of our dorm, Avery.

David and I lived in this dorm when we were students at UNC.

Lydia and I took a road trip to Charlotte, the last week in June to see a show.  We loved staying in downtown Charlotte.

My theater loving girl!

On our way out of town the next morning, we met up with Valerie and Merin for breakfast at Cracker Barrel.

Lydi and Merin

The next day Madeline and Alyssa went to a concert at Walnut Creek.

We picked Margo up on the morning of her 11th birthday.  Here she is with several of her camp friends.  She had the best time.

Celebrating at home with cookie cake!

Present time!

Finishing the weekend off by relaxing in the pool.  Of course, Jack had to go for a swim too!

Margo's 5th Grade Graduation

Margo had her 5th grade graduation on May 29th.  It's so hard to believe she is heading to middle school next year.

With Ms. Daniels.  She had such a great year!

With her BFF Bri and Ms. Daniels

With Mrs. Brooks (her reading teacher for the first part of the year).  She moved away earlier in the year but came back from Virginia Beach to be at the graduation.

With Mr. Carney.  I wished I had gotten more pics of Margo with all the wonderful teachers and staff at SSE, but it was a little chaotic and crowded after graduation.

With Mama & Daddy

A cake for our graduate!

Hydrangeas from our yard made a cute centerpiece.

The graduate!

Opening her elementary years scrapbook.  I have made one of these for each of our girls when they completed 5th grade.

She loved it!

Looking back over all the early years, teachers, field trips, activities, programs, etc.

I even made Margo and Bri some 'Best Friends' books.  I had so many pictures of them that I had to put them into a book.  They loved it!

Last day of 5th grade

1st day of Kindergarten

Last day of school with Principal Makey. She has been such an asset to SSE.

With Mrs. C.  She was Margo's 1st grade teacher and is now Assistant Principal.

We've had 12 wonderful years at South Smithfield Elementary with our three girls.  It's ggoing to be strange not having a child there.  The teachers and staff  have been wonderful and helped mold our children into who they are today. So thankful for this school!
