"I Wanna Hold Her!"

That's what the girls kept saying (and their mommy too) while we visited with Little Miss Caroline this weekend. She spent the night at Grandma's house, so we got a much needed dose of our sweet, sweet cousin and niece.
This was Lydia's first time holding her. Can you tell by the grin on her face?

Madeline's now a pro at holding her. She even fed her a bottle this time and helped change her diaper. She's going to be a good babysitter.

I think all the passing around and holding wore this little cutie out. Isn't she just precious? I had a little photo shoot while she slept. Yes, I did put her down! Check out more pictures of Caroline on flickr.

Decisions, Decisions

Madeline's been having a lot of questions about kindergarten lately and is starting to have some anxiety. We're staying really positive and upbeat about what a big girl she is and how fun kindergarten will be. To ease her fears a little, she and I took a special trip to Wal-Mart for some school supplies. She picked out this backpack in "lime flower patch" online yesterday.

We have the general kindergarten supply list, so I thought she'd enjoy picking out supplies.

Care Bears, Strawberry Shortcake, etc. ,etc. She was a little bummed that there were no Princess notebooks. At least we've got time to find one somewhere else.

I think my plan worked. She was very excited! Now if I can just keep her out of all her supplies until school starts!

More pictures from our beach trip have been added to flickr.

Beach Trip

We spent last week on vacation at Atlantic Beach. We had a great time and now it's time to get back into the groove of things at home.

There was lots and lots of time spent on the beach.

...and playing in the sand and water.

There were also a few trips to the pool.

They loved covering David with sand.

Pirate Night at the Aquarium.

I plan on uploading more pics from our trip to flickr this week.

Weekend Getaway

David and I spent the weekend on Hatteras Island. We figured we could use little R&R before we spend the upcoming week at the beach with the girls.

We climbed the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse.

And we took a trip to Ocracoke Island. It was a nice, quiet, and relaxing weekend. We're ready to get the girls and let the fun begin.

Happy 4th of July!!!!

This morning, the girls participated in the neighborhood 4th of July parade. Madeline did a good job driving and David did a good job decorating the princess car.

Check out Madeline's all-American smile.

And yes.........Lydia was trying to cram the flag up her nose. But hey, she was looking at the camera!
