Twinkle Toes

The girls got their toenails painted and embellished with special stickers this afternoon (by me, not at the salon!). Lydia chose blue nail polish with cute little green flowers....which just happen to match her outfit today. Madeline chose a sparkly purple polish with black heart stickers. She did not want me to take a picture of her toes!
Lydia was more than willing to pose for the camera. Both girls were pleased with the outcome.

Yesterday was Constitution Day and all of the kindergarten classes at SSE participated in a Constitution Day parade. Madeline was dressed for the occasion and proudly waved her American flag.

The parade only lasted a few minutes, but they all were so cute, circling the courtyard and marching to patriotic music.

Daddy's Boat

A couple of weeks ago, David pulled out the Hobie for it's annual cleaning and raising of the sails. No, we didn't go sailing. It's back under the tarp and will probably be until next year's bath. Lydia enjoyed helping wash the boat.

Madeline had fun just hanging out on the trampoline.

Future sailors?? Maybe we'll get them out on the Hobie at some point. Madeline has been once, when she was a year old. I think that's the last time I went out on this boat. Lydia's still waiting for her maiden voyage on the Hobie.

Well, the day is finally here. Madeline's first day of kindergarten. She got a good night's sleep and was in good spirits this morning. She seemed excited and was willing to pose for pictures.

In fact, when I asked her to stand in front of the flag, she decided to do this cute little pose.

My baby is not so little any more. Where did the time go??

Walking down the hall, headed to her class.

With her Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Skinner. Madeline says she looks like Barbie!

First Day of Preschool

Today was Lydia's first day of preschool. As you can see, she was all smiles.

She has been wanting to go ever since she could remember Madeline going.

I didn't have to worry about her shedding any tears. She made herself right at home. She loved the sand table.
Madeline and I headed straight to Cracker Barrel for a special breakfast date.

And she was still playing with sand (this time on the playground) when I picked her up.

Now it's time for lunch and to rest up before dance lessons this afternoon.
