Tah-Dah!!!!

Finally......a post about our Disney trip! Well, I really had good intentions of posting a lot sooner than now, but that wasn't happening. We came back sick...the girls and I, that is. I think we're all on the mend now though....David took really good care of us and I hope he doesn't get it. All in all, we had a great vacation. Madeline got a fever on Tuesdsay (the second full day of our trip) and continued to have one everyday until we left. We kept her doped up on Motrin and that seemed to do the trick. She was such a trooper. Luckily, fever was her only symptom. The medicine would kick in and then she was good to go. Everything was great.....our hotel, the food, the service, the friendly people, the shows, the charaters, the rides, etc. It really is magical! We were all exhausted by the end of each day and I think we're still feeling the effects of walking around huge theme parks for 5 continuous days. I have finally uploaded pictures from our trip to flickr and have broken them down into different categories. There are lots of pictures! Our favorite park by far was the Magic Kingdom and we spent a lot of time there. Lydia's favorite ride was the Haunted Mansion and Madeline's was the Barnstormer (roller coaster). David even got to enjoy a few adult roller coasters. The girls got to meet lots of Disney characters and even ate breakfast in Cinderella's Castle. You'll have to ask David who is favorite Princess is! I became very familiar with all the restrooms at all the Disney Parks and there are probably only a handful that I didn't visit! We were looking forward to finding out the sex of baby #3 once we returned home. Well, we had our ultrasound on Tuesday, and all is well, but the baby was balled up and would not show us any parts. I'm going to see if my OB can tell me at my appointment tomorrow. This little one's being difficult already!!

Greetings from Disney World

This week certainly is going better than last week. Lydia had a virus that lasted 6 days, and we were doing all we could to keep everyone healthy for our big trip. Everything has gone smoothly thus far. The girls enjoyed their first flight and did really well. Lydia kept "shushing" David during the flight. We had drilled into their heads that they had to be quiet during the flight. Madeline kept asking "are we there yet"..........better to hear that for 2 hours than 10! Believe it or not, it was only about 50 degrees when we arrived in Orlando and the temps dipped even more that evening. We had a chilly boat ride to our first Disney experience, dinner at Chef Mickey's.
The girls got to meet several characters, have their pictures taken and get the characters' autographs. Madeline was really into this. After Chef Mickey's, we headed to the Magic Kingdom for only about an hour to watch the Spectromagic parade and let the girls ride one ride, the Teacups!

Here's a view of our resort...... Wilderness Lodge.

Here's breakfast this morning.

Here are two happy little girls. We're back to Magic Kingdom for a full day tomorrow. The high is supposed to be 76 degrees, so no coats and gloves! Will update more later.

Not herself

Lydia's feeling under the weather today. She's not her normal lively self and has been lying around most of the day. I really knew she wasn't feeling well when she fell asleep on our bed around 11:30 and slept until 2:30. She has a 101.1 fever. She HATES medicine, and started crying at the mention of it. Well, I had to play tricky mama and laced her applesauce with some orange flavored ibuprofen. It worked because she ate all of it.
Isn't she pitiful-looking? Of course, she's getting the diva treatment.....bed tray, and all.
Things are definitely more laid-back around here today. I hope she feels better!

Happy 2008!

Happy New Year! Well, we made it through Christmas! What a whirlwind that was. We were so busy and on the go during the holidays. This is a picture of the girls on Christmas day at Grandma's house.

Here's Lydia playing with her train that Santa left. I think this was her favorite toy.

The girls tore into their presents and needed no help. Our living room floor was covered in paper and bows.
Madeline had a High School Musical Christmas. Lots of HSM items. Here she is sporting some dress-up items that Grandma & Grandpa gave her.
The girls had two big surprises this Christmas. They got tickets to Disney World. We're going in a few weeks. And they got a letter from Santa telling them that "Mommy has a baby in her tummy". That's right.....Baby Grimes #3 is due July 1st.
