It's all coming together

October is such a busy month. I have been wanting to post pictures of things we've been doing over the past few weeks, but somehow that hasn't happened. Hmmm... This week Halloween is quickly approaching and I'm knee deep in to-do lists for church, dance, school, preschool, etc. Tonight I'm baking for the Fall Bazaar at church and finishing up Halloween costumes.
We did make it to the NC State Fair last Tuesday. It was a gorgeous day and all three girls did great. I think Margo liked strolling around and watching everything. We probably stayed about 30 minutes too late, because up until then, there had been no meltdowns, whining, etc. Well about 6:30pm, it hit (from Madeline & Lydia). All was well within a few minutes after a potty break and the purchase of a light-up sword. All in all, it was a good day.

A few weeks ago, Lydia's preschool class went to the pumpkin patch. Margo and I went and Lydia picked out the cutest baby pumpkin for Margo. Tomorrow, Madeline's first grade class is going to the pumpkin patch and Margo and I are going too.

Here's a sneak peek at Margo's Halloween costume. She is going to be a flower ( a hydrangea). This is her headpiece that I'm still working on. I think she'll look like one of those Anne Geddes babies.

Lydia's Wonder Woman costume is done for the most part. I finished her boots tonight. I just spray painted a pair of Wal-Mart boots and made the white stripes out of bandage tape. Her costume has been fun to make. Madeline is going to be Sharpay from High School Musical. She has a good old store-bought costume, so that's one less thing on my to-do list.
Oh, and I can't believe my baby is already 4 months old on Wednesday. How did that happen?

Pretty Baby

A few weeks ago, I had Margo's 3 month pictures taken at Hardison Photography and I just got them back this week. Mr. Hardison was great with her and the photo session only lasted about 10 minutes. He took LOTS of pictures and this is what I narrowed it down to.....not an easy decision for me!
Isn't she sweet??

It's hard to believe she'll be 4 months old in less than a week.

Pure Lydia

While in the mountains, Lydia was so inspired, she just had to break out into song and dance. We have no idea what the song is....something she made up. You may want to pause the playlist in the right sidebar to fully appreciate this.

Our Camping Trip

Last weekend we went camping in the NC mountains. We stayed at Bear Den Campground. The Flynns went with us and we had a great time. The weather was great and we packed a lot of fun into a couple of days.
Here are all the girls after breakfast one morning. This was Margo's first camping trip and she did great! I was a little worried about how she would do not being in her crib, but she did just fine in the pop up..........slept all night, both nights.

We went to the Orchard at Altapass. The girls got to pick their own apples.

We then went gem mining at Gem Mountain.

We also went to see the Linville Falls.

A picture of us with Margo in front of the pop up. She was a good camper!

We couldn't believe the price of gas was under $3 a gallon. I had to take a picture.

The Grimes and The Flynns posing on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Madeline knows how to camp like a diva. I knew she had brought her pocketbook, but didn't know about the high heels until I saw her walking around our campsite in them. When I asked her why she brought those shoes, she answered, "Because I like them". Good enough.

David and Lydia at the Upper Linville Falls. It was a great trip. To see more pics from our trip, click here.

Meeting Brayden

On Tuesday, Madeline, Lydia and I got to meet Brayden.

He was wide awake and so alert. We all took our turn holding him. Isn't he a cutie?

Here's Lydia holding Brayden. This only lasted a few seconds and then she seemed to be more interested in checking out Aunt Leslie's hospital room and harassing Uncle Greg.

Madeline's an old pro now at holding babies. She knew exactly what to do.

Here's the happy family. Maybe Margo can meet her cousin once y'all are home.....she didn't meet the age requirement for visitors at the hospital.

Oh Boy!!!

We have a new baby BOY cousin and nephew in the Grimes family. Leslie & Greg welcomed Brayden into the world very early this morning. I talked to Leslie earlier today and she said they're doing OK an he is just precious. I'm getting antsy because I haven't even seen a picture yet. Needless to say, all the Grimes girls can't wait to meet him. Uncle David is going to see him after work today. Brace yourself, little man....I have a feeling all four of your girl cousins are going to have fun dressing you up! Congratulations, Leslie and Greg! Now the FUN begins.

Eleven on the Eleventh

Today is our 11th wedding anniversary. We are spending the weekend in the NC mountains at Bear Den campground. Yep, we're family camping in the pop up....enjoying nature, good food, campfires and the constant chatter (& cooing) of our girls. I will post more pics from our trip once we're home.

Backyard Camping, etc...

Friday night, David, Madeline and Lydia camped out in the tent in the backyard. They were really "roughing it" with the laptop, portable DVD player and the air mattress! They had Jiffy Pop and watched Enchanted. The girls were so excited. This was just an appetizer for our camping trip that we have planned for this weekend.

David left the tent up until Monday afternoon. The girls loved playing in it. It's amazing how much of their "stuff" they had put in the tent that had to make it's way back in the house!

Here's our own natural Halloween decoration right off of our deck! This spider has been in the same spot since Friday afternoon. Check out the zig-zag stitching on that web! That's one crafty spider.
Saturday night the girls and I made a fruit pizza. They loved decorating it...and it was pretty tasty.

We went to a birthday party at Marbles museum on Sunday afternoon and then had dinner at the Mellow Mushroom. This was Margo's second trip ....her first trip was when she was only five days old. Madeline and Lydia loved sitting outside on the covered patio. It was a fun and busy weekend. Now I gotta get busy planning and packing for this weekend!

Bring on the FALL

What happened to September?? I honestly had intentions of doing more posts. It's been a week since I've posted and now it's October! I love fall. It's my favorite time of year. So at least I'll start October with a long post to recap some of the things we've been doing. The girls have been playing outside a lot. Almost every time we come home from school, preschool, church, etc., Lydia heads straight to the swing set. The weather has been great for time outside. And we've been taking Margo on lots of strolls around the neighborhood.
Speaking of the little miss, here she is all smiles this morning and trying out the Bumbo and rockin' some jeans thanks to cousin Caroline. She turned 3 months on Monday and I had planned to do a post.....
Anyhoo, she is growing so much. She is giving us lots of smiles and we heard the faint beginnings of a laugh the other night. It's not a full-on belly laugh yet. I can't wait to get those on video.
She's taking lots more interest in her toys now, especially the ones on her play mat. She reaches for them and tries her best to put them in her mouth. The other night she practically had her whole fist in her mouth. Oh, and there's drool now.....lots of drool.
Margo enjoys playdates, too. Above with Addison. These girls are loving their pacis.

With her buddy Branson.

Madeline is still loving having a baby in the house. Here she is taking pictures of Margo with her own camera .

A few weekends ago, Lydia went to her first Carolina football game with David, Grandpa and Uncle Greg. She had a good time, even though the Heels were defeated.

We're looking forward to all that fall brings....cooler weather, a camping trip next weekend, pumpkins, Halloween, and our new little nephew/cousin who is due in one week!!
