It's been a crazy busy week here at the Grimes household. We started the week with preparations for the fall bazaar at church. We had awards day on Tuesday, Lydia's field trip on Wednesday, and the fall bazaar that evening. On Thursday we caught our breath....just a little. Friday night David and I went to a Halloween costume party and today the girls and I painted and carved pumpkins and baked some cupcakes before heading out trick-or-treating. Now, I'm about to head into work!!! But I just had to post a couple of pics. Madeline was Hannah Montana, Lydia was Bat Girl and Margo was a clown. David and I decided to dress up with the girls tonight, since we already had our costumes. I borrowed this Dorothy costume from someone at David's work. And he wore his "Viagra" tie. The girls called him a silly man. We have some explaining to do several years down the road. Anyway, we had a fun time even though it was a bit chaotic. I have lots of pictures to post from our camping trip last weekend and all of our other busy happenings!!!!

BOO, Y'ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Piano Party

Pause the playlist on the right sidebar and listen to Madeline play Rain on the Roof. We are so proud of her. She has been taking piano lessons for two months now, and she is doing great.

Her teacher hosted a little Halloween party and let each of the students play for the parents.

Here's the Thursday group of students. There were a few children missing due to ballgames. They all performed so well!

They were rewarded with yummy treats!

Here they are in the piano room talking and eating. Margo helped herself to the food on Madeline's plate.

Madeline with her piano teacher, Mr. Buddy! He's AWESOME!!!!

And, of course, Lydia had to have her picture taken with him too! She loves him and can't wait to take piano lessons too. In fact, she has already learned a beginner song by watching Madeline. I'll have to post a video of that soon.

It's so nice to hear the girls tickling the ivories!

Move over, Olivia Newton-John.....There's a new kid on the block.

Here is Lydia prior to dance lessons on Tuesday. She was so excited about her new leg warmers.

And here is Lydia after dance and after Kids' night at Chick-Fil-A.

She chose to get her face painted as The Incredible Hulk. She had planned on getting a butterfly face, until she saw that the little boy in front of her was getting the Hulk.

She was so happy with the outcome. I love that she is OK with being a girly-girl and a superhero at the same time. That's what makes her "Lydia".

Madeline chose a fairy face painting. She's sticking to the girly stuff.....which suits her personality.

What A Week!!!

It's been a wild week here at the Grimes household!

Last Sunday, the girls and I drove to Jamesville to pick up our new puppy, Kramer.

He is a sweet boy, but he is all PUPPY!!!!

Curious, with sharp little teeth that love to nip and chew on anything in site.

David finally got his "boy".

On Monday, Margo had her first day of Mothers' Morning Out. Here she is cheesin' for the camera before heading out to "school".

She likes her new backpack. She had a great first day.

On Tuesday, we went with the Flynns to Hill Ridge Farms in Youngsville. It was a gorgeous day and the kids had so much fun.

He we are getting ready for the train ride.

Madeline and Lydia in the hay barn.

Margo picking out a pumpkin.
That night we found out that Margo had been exposed to the Swine Flu. Sure enough, Wednesday afternoon she had a high fever. On Thursday, she tested positive for the flu. :-(

Meanwhile, Kramer continued to get spoiled and I knew it would be just a matter of time before Madeline and Lydia got sick....

Snuggled up with his daddy...

Margo is getting more comfortable with Kramer and he is doing better by not jumping up on her so much now.
By Friday afternoon, Margo was feeling much better but her sissies developed fevers. They all have bad coughs and are out of school today. M&L still had low-grade fevers this morning. I'm crossing my fingers that they will be better tomorrow and can go to school. I'm also hoping David and I can bypass the flu. We're supposed to go camping this weekend.
I finally got around to uploading some pics to flickr. Check out Anna & Tim's wedding, Kramer, and Hill Ridge Farms.

Family Addition

Our family is growing. After a lot of talking and thinking......we've decided to go for it. As if life isn't crazy (and wonderful) enough with three little girls, why not add to the chaos with a puppy?? It looks like we're going to be dog owners again, come Sunday.

I started getting the doggie itch over the summer. We were thinking about getting a dog for the girls for Christmas. We had even thought that maybe we'd get another beagle.

Well, thanks to facebook and this sweet little face, we're planning to rescue this little puppy.
It's in Jamesville and we plan to go get HIM on Sunday. David finally will get a boy :-)

Isn't he cute? These pictures came from facebook, so that's why they're small. I'm sure this pup will get his share of photo ops! Wish us luck. And, oh, we need a name!

Hello, Fall

Greetings from Kitty Hawk. David and I are having an early anniversary trip while the girls stay with Grammie and PaPa. This is the view from our hotel room. It's the Kitty Hawk pier.

We have had lots going on for the past few weeks. We went to Anna (David's cousin) and Tim's wedding in Chapel Hill. The girls entertained themselves on the air vent at the church.

Margo loved how it blew up her dress. Just look at her face.

Peek-a-boo!!! Margo loved playing this at the park last week.

She thinks she's such a big girl now that she can climb through the tunnels and up the slides, etc.

Caroline loved the park too! Caroline spent a few days with us last week. Everytime I tried to take her picture, she would look away and say "cheeseburger".

David and I went to see the Zac Brown band in Cary a few weeks ago. It was a great show.

David stood in line all day on Saturday for his spot on the field at Carter Finley Stadium to see U2. This was his second time seeing them. He said it was an awesome show!!

Sardines? This is what our three girls look like stuffed in the backseat of David's Honda Accord. I had a flat tire on the van on the way to Anna and Tim's rehearsal dinner. We had to order a tire, so we drove the Accord to the wedding. It was drizzling rain and they had no DVD they all slept! A special shout out to Mr. Grimes for changing the flat tire on the side of I-40 in 5 o'clock traffic on a Friday afternoon!
