Beach Week 2010

We spent a week at Pine Knoll Shores and Atlantic Beach recently. As always, we had a great time.
Flying high.....Margo and David

Playing hard on the beach makes for a good afternoon nap :-)

On the Beaufort waterfront

Madeline is turning into a pretty good photographer.

Surfer Girl (or boogie board girl)

Catching some tunes on the beach

Sassy Girl

Building sandcastles

Pool time

S'mores for dessert at Amos Mosquitos....this has become a Grimes family tradition.

David went water skiing for the first time in about six years. He's still feeling the effects of it!

We spent a day at Shackleford Island. The horses were walking up and down the beach several times that day.

At the aquarium

A mouth bigger than our three little "big mouths"

Margo playing peek-a-boo on the beach at Fort Macon

The wind was whipping that day....thus the wild hair. Still a cute pic.

Sweet girls.
It was a great trip filled with fun times and good memories.

Back to School!

Even though it's still summer, these two headed back to school today! They were pretty excited.
Our first grader, Lydia. She has a new Hello Kitty lunch box and backpack.

Our third grader, Madeline....sporting her new messenger bag.

Of course, baby sis had to get in on this picture. Margo loves to say "cheese" now when her picture is taken.

Madeline with her teacher, Mrs. Swain. Madeline did not want me hanging around at all, so I was happy to get this one picture in the hallway. I guess she's getting too old for me to take her picture at school on the first day :-(

Lydia, on the other hand, could not contain her excitement and was all smiles for the camera. Here she is giving her teacher, Mrs. "C" a big hug.

She told me the other night that she was so excited about first grade because she gets to sit at a real desk and not a table! She was one happy kid when I left. I hope she and Madeline have a great first day.

Margo was so sweet, waving bye to her sisters. She loved the "tool bus", so I snapped a picture of her in front of it!
Stay tuned for pictures from our recent beach trip!!

The Fourth, Fun, & Family Camp

A couple of weeks ago, the girls and I spent a few days at Emerald Isle with the Coats girls . It was nice to get our toes in the sand and breathe the salty air.

Margo and Addison had fun playing together.

Lauren and Lydia chillaxin at the pool.
We had a great time at Emerald Isle and are now looking forward to our annual family beach trip to Atlantic Beach.
Madeline had a great time at Camp Don Lee. She went straight from Emerald Isle to camp. Margo loved riding the ferry and feeding the seagulls.

Madeline and Reagan on pick-up day! They survived three nights of camping like big girls.

Now rewind to the 4th of July. I never got around to posting these pictures. Here are the girls on the 4th of July, after church.

My little firecracker, all dressed up for the neighborhood parade on Saturday, July 3rd.

Lydia strikes a patriotic pose.

Even Annie celebrated the 4th.
She is such a sweet doggie.

The following pics are from family camp at Camp Don Lee, July 11-14th. David and the girls stayed in the pop-up camper and enjoyed lots of activities. Margo and I enjoyed a quiet house for a few days :-)

Lydia practices her archery skills.

Happy Camper

Well....the day finally came! We took Madeline to Camp Don Lee today for starter camp (3 nights). She was so excited. Doesn't she look like a happy camper?

Here she is with her friend Reagan. I think they will have a good time and make some good friends and memories.

Look very closely and you'll see the sweat dripping off of our bodies. It was so HOT!!! It sure is hard to believe that Madeline is old enough to be going to camp.

With her counselor, Amanda. I hope she is having a great time. I am holding up pretty tears yet. I'm so glad I can e-mail her and check the camp's website and see pictures! Aaahhh, technology!
