Brad Paisley Concert

David and I took Madeline and Lydia to their first "real" concert on Saturday night.....Brad Paisley! (A few years ago we took the girls to a free Air Supply concert.) Margo got to spend some quality time with Grandma :-) Here are just a few pics that I took with my phone.

We met up with some friends there. The girls had fun running around on the lawn. Thankfully, the crowd was pretty tame sitting around us.

There were a few opening acts. Brad didn't actually go on stage until around 9pm. The girls kept asking, "Is this Brad Paisley?" That was quite funny, especially when Darius Rucker was singing.

Me and my cowboy :-) I think the last time we had lawn seats at Walnut Creek was when we were in college or either newly married. We were still able to hang.
It was a great show....especially considering our lawn tickets were only $10 each. That's almost unheard of these days. I think the girls had a great time. Madeline was wrapped up in our lawn blanket towards the end of the show, but Lydia was still going strong. Imagine that!

Flashback Friday :: Zoolydia

While going through some pics today, I came across this one from October 2006. It immediately made me think of the movie Zoolander.

See the resemblance?

More Piano

OK...our computer is cooperating, so here are some more pictures. Below is a video clip of Madeline playing "Funny Bunny" at the recital. She has had this committed to memory for several months. She told me she was going to have her sheet music there just in case.....she didn't need it!

After the recital with her certificate and cotton candy!

This is from a couple of months ago. She performed for the piano guild and got an "excellent" rating for "Funny Bunny". She was so proud of that trophy!

Lydia had her first piano lesson last Thursday. She was so excited. She has been picking out several tunes for several months now. She played four songs in her piano book at her first lesson. And she has been practicing. I hope she will keep it up! She seems to have an ear for music. Madeline participated in her second piano recital a few weeks ago. She did very well. I would post a picture, but am having technical difficulties with our computer right now. I'm updating from our laptop and had to pull this picture of Lydia off of facebook. Will update with more pictures soon!
