My First Giveaway :: My Memories Suite 2

YES! The Grimes Times is hosting it's first-ever giveaway. A few weeks ago I was contacted by My Memories to see if I would be interested in hosting a giveaway of their digital scrapbooking software! I have dabbled in digital scrapbooking some, so I thought this would be a good way to find out what other great programs are out there.

It was so easy to use. Now I love me some old-school scrapbooking, but who am I kidding? I still have photos cut, sorted, etc. from 5-10 years ago and stuffed in places just waiting to be scrapbooked. That would mean dragging out everything and having the dining room held hostage for at least three months with pictures everywhere.

With digital scrapbooking you don't have to drag out anything! It's all literally at your fingertips. Just have your photos on your computer and get to work! I played around with the software and found it very user friendly. In a matter of minutes you can create a very beautiful scrapbook page.

Here's one page that took literally just minutes to complete. One neat thing about My Memories is that their software offers lots of options. And there are lots of FREE downloads. The above page was created using some of their free kits.
Another feature that I like about this software is the embellishments. See that cute white bow on my page? I thought it fit in just perfectly with this beach scene and my three little girls!
And notice the word wrap on the corners of the picture....another neat feature!

There are so many options: from page color, page texture, fonts, word art, etc....just to name a few! As I was fixing this page, I thought how handy this could be with my Girl Scout troop this year. I can share all the troop pics with the moms with a cute digital scrapbook. And if I want a hardbound copy, that is an option too!

I really had fun playing around with the software. You can share your pages and albums with friends. There's also a song and video feature with this software!
You are not limited to just scrapbook pages. You can make cards and calendars, too. I made this calendar in about 2 minutes! It would be neat to have as a wallpaper for your computer.
This is how YOU can win::

Oh My Darlin'

I realize that Clementine is not the happiest song for a toddler to be singing and that Apple Bottom Jeans is not the most appropriate. I'm not really sure where she picked up Clementine, but I am quite sure that she picked up Apple Bottom Jeans from hearing it while she's in the playroom at the gym. It's located right across the hall from my zumba class and that song is one of the many that is blasted through the speakers. Anyway, enjoy Margo's Medley :)

Cupcakes by Madeline

Madeline has been asking me for several weeks to let her make cupcakes. She has helped me make them numerous times, but this time she was pretty much on her own. I was her backup help only. I actually did very little to help her.
She used a white cake mix which called for egg whites. She got some good practice cracking and separating eggs. Margo was right by her side, observing.

Adding in the ingredients

Placing the cupcake liners

Filling the liners

Time to go in the oven

Frosting the cooled cupcakes

I even taught her how to pipe some frosting on the cupcakes using a ziploc bag.

The finished product! Madeline did a great job!

Margo was happy to perform a taste test.

These were quite yummy and they didn't last very long around our house. I'm so proud of my little baker :)
