Our Three Dancing Beauties!

We survived Dance Recital 2012!!! This was the first year that all three girls have been in dance.  They had their recital last Saturday night and all three did great!
Look at these girls striking a pose!

My baby ballerina!

Showing off her passe'.

Giving her teddy bear a squeeze.  Her group danced to Elvis Presley's Teddy Bear.  They all did very well.

Lydia posing in her ballet costume.

Sunny yellow, just like Lydia....a bright spot if our life :)

Such a pretty girl!  Her ballet dance was to the Beatles Here Comes the Sun.

Showing off her tap costume.

The tap number was to the Archies Sugar, Sugar.  Everyone looked like peppermint candy!
Lydia's group did great in both the tap and ballet numbers.

And last but not least, my clogging girl!

Madeline LOVES clogging.  She has really excelled in this class and is always clogging around the house.  In fact, some nights I have to tell her to quit clogging in the shower!

Madeline's group was the last group to perform before the finale number.  I told Madeline that was because they always save the best for last!  They did an awesome job!  They clogged to Rascal Flatts Life is a Highway.

Backstage after their performace:  Margo with her little friends Brianna and Dellaina.

Lydia with her friends Emma Grace and Anna Kate.

Madeline with friends Alyssa and Sofia.

After the show!  It was a LONG day and night.  We had rehearsals the morning of the recital, so by the end of the night, we were tired to say the least.  Margo hung in there and was a real trooper.  It looks like she's asleep in this picture, but her flowers are covering her face.  She just didn't have any more energy to sit up! HA!

So proud of my little dancers.  They did great and so did all the dancers that night.
So now we get a nice summer break from dance.  And what does Lydia do?  She asked  me that very night if I would sign her up for gymnastics this summer?!?!? GAAHHHH
Well....she starts on Monday!  So much for the break ;)

Busy May Days!

OK, Finally!  I'm gonna catch up with what we've been doing in May since the month is quickly coming to an end.  Meet "Tator Swift"!  This is Madeline's yam creation that won 1st place in her age division for a person at the Ham & Yam Festival which was the first weekend in May!

Lydia won 3rd place for "Hammah Montana".

And Margo won too!  We literally threw these ham creations together at the last minute.  Margo was still sick, but perked up long enough to paint her "Cinderella".  She may have had a little help on the face and hair from mommy.  Anyway, I was helping the girls with finishing touches at 5:45 Friday evening and they were due at 6:00!  We were all surprised that each girl WON!  They got cash prizes :)
Madeline clogged at the Ham & Yam festival with her clogging class.

She is one of the youngest in this class. They did a really good job and Madeline was very excited about her group being chosen to perform that day.

David & I took Madeline and Lydia to see Wicked on May 11th at the DPAC.  We had seen it a few years ago and loved it.  We thought that M & L would enjoy it since they are such huge Wizard of Oz fans.  They loved it!

Here's a picture of Margo's room before the switcheroo (that I mentioned in the last post).  Margo and Lydia are now roommates ( with a new room color) and Madeline has her OWN room!

Madeline picked out some bedding that matched the green walls.  She graduated from a twin to a full size bed!  She is loving her new room and so is Annie.
Once I get all the finishing touches on the girls' rooms, I will do a post about that.
We spent Mother's Day at Camp Don Lee for Open House.  David took the girls sailing on the Hobie.

I stayed on the pier and took pictures.  Here they are passing by.  This was Margo's first Hobie experience.

Me and my sweet girls on Mother's Day.

Margo had her end of the year preschool program last week.  Another fine performance!

Margo & Brianna after the program.

Roomies! Margo still likes for me to read to her at night but has allowed Lydia to read to her some.

Margo's end of the year preschool party!

With her teacher, Mrs. Jackson.  It's hard to believe she has already completed her first year of preschool.  Next year at this time we will be getting ready for Kindergarten!  Oh, NO!!!!!
Friday is Margo's last day and her class is going to the splash park!  She is so excited.

Oh. My. Word.  I cannot believe how precious my baby girl is in her little ballet costume!  We took these pictures last week before heading to pictures at the studio.  I curled Margo's hair and gave her a little bit of lipstick and she was adorable!

Too Cute!!!!

Lydia in her ballet costume.
And my clogger!
These pictures just make my heart swell. They have their dance recital this weekend and they are looking forward to it.  They have all worked very hard and the bigger girls have had lots of extra practices.  I know they will do great and I will be a proud mama :)

Stay Tuned.....

I have been meaning to blog all week.  There's so much that's been going on with us this month.  Until I get that big blog post done, here's a few pics to tide you over.  Margo in her foam hair rollers!  She has dance pictures tonight and her hair is supposed to be curly!  Move over, Shirley Temple :)
A view from the back and when she caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror!

We have done a room switcheroo.  I have spent the last two days painting what is now Margo & Lydia's room PINK!  More details and pics to come.  Stay tuned....

Our Little Patient

We've had a sick little girl for the past several days.  Margo was the victim of a bad stomach bug.  She had fever and vomiting and was not getting any better after about three days of it.  She ended up in the WakeMed Children's ED on Thursday for some IV fluids.  She was so pitiful....

This is a picture of her sleeping in my arms at the Peds office while waiting for the doctor to see us earlier that day.  She was so lethargic!  She could barely hold her head up.   I had to wake her up for the doctor to assess her.  He sent us straight to the Children's ED.

Daddy came to be with his baby girl!  Once they got her IV fluids going, she started to perk up a little bit.

And she got some popsicles!  She had a total of three during her stay.  And they all stayed down! So thankful that she wasn't vomiting any more.  She had started vomiting all her medications prior to the doc/ED visit.

With mommy...making silly faces.  By the end of our stay in the ED, she was a completely different child.  She was talking (and if you know Margo, you know she loves to talk!) and giggling and just fascinated with the entire 'hospital' experience.  They did a great job of keeping everything kid-friendly and explaining things to her.  They called her IV a medicine straw. And the blood pressure cuff 'hugged' her arm.  She did really well during the IV insertion (of course she cried, but it was similar to crying with routine immunizations). She will tell you that they pinched her arm!

We were able to come home several hours later.  Here's our little patient standing by her "Welcome Home" sign her sisters made her.  (Thanks, Grandma for taking care of the big sisters!).  Margo was excited to tell her sisters all about her boo-boo  where the IV was and all about being in the hospital.  She was SO much better but still not 100%.

In fact, the next day we were still dealing with these kinds of temperatures!  Uggh....

We have almost any flavor and form of motrin & tylenol!

I am happy to report that we have not used ANY Motrin or Tylenol at all today for the first time since Tuesday morning! Yay!  I think our patient is on the mend :)))
