Finally! A post about our recent Disney trip. It's taken me some time to get all the pictures organized. I may or may not have taken around 500 pictures on this trip! So be warned: there are lots of pictures in this post. And if you have some time to kill, you can hop over to flickr (via the sidebar) and view the rest or click here and here.
Anyhoo.....our first family photo taken the night of the day we arrived. I love that they still had all the Christmas decorations up and the castle was illuminated in icicle lights.
This year we stayed at the Port Orleans Riverside resort. It is one of the moderate resorts. After staying at the deluxe, economy and moderate, we think we like this one the best! Ours had a cabin type theme. Disney is all about the detail. Even the carpet in our room looked like old wood planked floors. Wish I had a picture of that.
A view of the mill house (inside was the dining room) at the resort.
|We got to enjoy some pool time at the resort the first day there before heading into the parks later that evening. Margo's still got it! Our little fish retained what she learned in swim lessons over the summer!|
We enjoyed lots of parades. Here's Mr. Potato Head at an afternoon parade at Hollywood Studios.
We dined with Princesses. Here's Margo & Lydia with Snow White (Margo's favorite princess two years ago).
Spaceship Earth at night at Epcot
We had a nice breakfast (Hawaiian style) at the Polynesian Resort one morning. Lilo and Stitch were there, along with Mickey and Pluto!
I had Madeline snap a photo of us since this might be as close as we ever get to Hawaii! HaHa!
New Fantasyland is open at the Magic Kingdom and it does not disappoint! Here's a view of Ariel and Prince Eric's Castle near the new Under the Sea attraction.
The girls got to meet Ariel in her grotto. Madeline passed on getting her photo taken with all the characters and princesses. She did for some, though. Lydia was pretty happy getting her picture taken with most everyone. And Margo was all about it! That was probably her favorite thing. We filled up an autograph book and part of another one! She sure has changed a lot in two years. Two years ago, she was fascinated with characters from AFAR, but this time, she talked to them, got hugs, etc.
Margo's face doesn't do this picture justice of how thrilled she was to ride the Tower of Terror (pictured in the background). Oh well, just trust me when I say that she loved that ride!
Cinderella Castle-- so pretty at night!
The Electrical Parade :: That's Cinderella in her Pumpkin Carriage.
We love Minnie! We also saw Minnie at Chef Mickey's on our last night at Disney. Margo was so excited because Minnie gave her lots of kisses!
Madeline and Lydia asked me to take their picture in front of China at Epcot. This was after we had eaten lunch with the princesses in Norway. Lydia wore her Belle dress for most of that day.
Margo found Mary Poppins at the Town Square. She was delightful!
Margo getting a big hug from Jessie while Woody signs her book.
Couldn't do a blog post without a picture of the girls with Mickey!
On our last day in the park. Sunny and 80 degrees!
The girls got to meet Rapunzel!
We got a close-up of Donald at the afternoon parade.
Pluto and the girls at Chef Mickey's.
Margo waiting so patiently to see Jasmine and Aladdin. She had her princess pen and book ready!
We only had to pull out the ponchos on one day of our visit. The day that we spent at Epcot was drizzly off and on all day. The damp weather did not dampen Margo's spirits.
Margo and I loved the new Dumbo ride in New Fantasyland (at night) in the Magic Kingdom.
Photo op by the castle.
We also got to eat at the new Be Our Guest restaurant in Beast Castle. This dining room is an exact replica of the one in the movie Beauty and the Beast.
The girls with Prince Charming
We were so entertained by Drizella and her sister Anastasia. Cinderella's stepsisters were a hoot!
Margo getting some love from her favorite princess!
With Wreck It Ralph and Vanellope! We saw this movie before we went to Disney and loved it.
There is a new attraction in New Fantasyland called Enchanted Tales with Belle. We didn't really know what to expect, but it turns out that it is very interactive and Margo and Lydia were chosen/volunteered to participate in this story time. Margo was cast as Mrs. Potts.
Lydia eagerly volunteered to be the Beast! Here she is scaring Belle! Doesn't Belle look frightened?!?
And as the story goes on, Beast and Belle dance! This was a highlight of our Disney trip for Lydia.
Taking a bow for a job well done!
Hanging out with the Coke bottles!
A view of the backside of the castle.
The girls with Walt and Mickey. This was inside One Man's Dream....all about the life of Walt Disney--very interesting. And to think it all started with a mouse!
It was an awesome trip. We all had to go into rapid Disney detox as soon as we got home. Back to reality.
It will probably be a while before we go back to Disney. I guess I'll have to look at my 500 pictures ;-)
