May Days

It's hard to believe that May is almost over!  Here are a bunch of (mostly iPhone) pics to recap our busy month!
The girls had entries for the What's that Yam Thing contest at the Ham & Yam festival.  Madeline made Hammy Boo Boo, Lydia made an alien and Margo made a caterpillar.

Madeline got a First Place ribbon for her division!

And so did Margo!

The girls met up with their cousins and friends at the Ham & Yam festival after their dance rehearsal that morning.

Lydia with her piano teacher, Mr. Buddy.  Lydia performed in the piano guild on May 11th.

She got a Superior rating (99%) for Dublin Town!  She was one happy pianist.

Me and my sweet girls on Mother's Day.  They are growing up!

Another shot of us girls.  Notice Annie at the door :)

Margo practicing T-ball.

At her first practice.

Hitting the ball!  Unfortunately we've only made it to 1/2 of T-ball events  because of other obligations!

Margo "graduated" from preschool and had her program a few weeks ago.  Look out Kindergarten!
Lydia had her Violin concert at school a few weeks ago.

May has been super busy and it looks like summer will be too.  Lydia started swim team last night.  We're busy bees around here but I'll do my best to update our happenings!

Dance Recital 2013

The girls had their dance recital on May 5th.  They worked very hard this year.  Madeline and Lydia had lots of extra practices because they were in the opening and finale acts of the dance recital. I took the girls to the studio for group pictures but I experimented with setting up my own "home studio" this year for their individual pictures (I used a couple of white sheets).  I think they turned out pretty good.  And most of all, I saved lots of money on pictures.  We've already spent a small fortune on dance lessons, costumes, tights, shoes, etc.

Madeline takes clogging and LOVES it.  Her group did really good.  They even danced at the Ham & Yam Festival this year.

They danced to "Dude Looks Like a Lady" by Aerosmith.  So the costume really fit the dance.

Lydia's class did a ballet and tap number.  Here she is in her ballet costume (and a smirk on her face).
Her Ballet number was to "So Long, Farewell" from The Sound of Music. This was the last number of the recital (well...before the Parent Dance and the Finale).

Pretty Ballerina Princess

Here's her Little Red Riding Hood Costume from her tap number.  I took this picture at night (after group pics) and the lighting is a little harsh.  But she still looks cute.

Margo in her ballet costume.  She and about 50 other 4-5 year-olds danced to a sweet version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow.  (They all took turns dancing to different verses of the song).

Striking a ballet pose!

How precious is this costume?!?  Margo's class did their tap dance to "Under the Sea" from The Little Mermaid.  It was so cute.  And Margo loved it.  She was grinning from ear to ear on stage.

The headband MADE this costume.  However, I had to do a little mommy engineering to make sure it stayed on her head!
So proud of my dancers.  Check out the flickr link HERE for more pictures.
Here is a video of Madeline's class clogging at the Ham & Yam festival.
